    • Freedom to travel in and out of New Zealand.


    Who can apply for a Partner of a New Zealander Work Visa?

     

    You may be eligible if:

     

    • You are married to or in a stable relationship with a New Zealand citizen or resident.

    • You are living together with your partner at the time of application.

    • You can demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself or have a sponsor.

    • You and your partner plan to live together in New Zealand.

    • You meet New Zealand's health and character requirements.

     

    Evidence of a genuine relationship is essential. Documentation should clearly indicate your cohabitation, the duration of your relationship, and any shared financial responsibilities.

    *You cannot include your dependent children in your visa application, but they can apply for
    visas based on their relationship to you.

    Processing time: 80% within 7 weeks

  • The Partner of a New Zealander Resident Visa allows partners of New Zealand citizens or residents to obtain New Zealand residence.

     

    What does a Partner of a New Zealander Resident Visa offer?

    This visa allows:

    • Indefinite stay, live, work, and study in New Zealand.

    • Permission to enter and leave NZ as often as needed.

    • Include your dependent children aged 24 or younger in your visa application

    • Apply for permanent residence after having this visa for at least 2 years in a row.

    Who can apply for a Partner of a New Zealander Resident Visa?

    Eligibility criteria include:

     

    • Good health and character (from you and your partner).

    • Have a partner who is a New Zealand citizen or resident

    • Proof of genuine and stable relationship for at least one year.

    • Eligible NZ Supporting Partner.

    • Relationship with family; For the NZ government to consider dependent children on the visa, they must be single and under 24 years old. Children between 21-24 years old must rely on an adult for financial support.

     

    *Partners who have New Zealand residence because they have an Australian passport, permanent residence, or resident return visa, must live in New Zealand.

     

    Cost: From NZD $5,360

    Processing time: 80% within 9.5 months

  • This visa allows you to work in New Zealand while your partner is here on a work visa. Your partner must have an eligible work visa to support your application.


    Length of stay
    Same duration as your partner's work visa


    To apply you must:

    • have a partner who has an eligible work visa and can support your application

    • be living with your partner in a  genuine and stable relationship

    • have enough money to pay your living expenses

    • have plans to leave New Zealand at the end of your stay

    • meet the other requirements of this visa.


    This visa lets you:

    • join your partner while they are in New Zealand

    • work in New Zealand for any employer

    • study for up to 3 months

    • travel in and out of New Zealand.


    You do not need to have a New Zealand job offer to apply.
    You cannot include dependent children in your visa application.
