Chitra studied a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Media degree from Macquarie University in 2018. Whilst studying, she gained extensive experience in various community legal centres around NSW, including at Redfern Legal Centre and the Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS), all of which have shaped her passion for social justice. In November 2018, Chitra and a friend she met at RACS successfully raised $10,000 for the UNCHR (the UN Refugee Agency), through an 18-day hike for humanity in Nepal.
